JIKAI

The story of Jikai is the story of two brothers Ichiro and Haruka, and is based on a popular Japanese legend.

This legend relates the belief that people who die can only pass into the world after death if their body is full, otherwise their body will be tied to the earthly world at the mercy of the demons...

So when a person dies and they lack a limb in their funeral ritual, a wooden prosthesis is added so they can rest in peace.

Jikai is a final degree project in which I was lucky to collaborate making two lightings. It was a challenge for me since it was the first time that I had to illuminate on a professional way. They were my first lightings in motion and I had to worry about rendering time.

In this project I was in charge of doing the key lighting of two planes. Oscar Martinez did the master lighting and from his lights I tried to give continuity to the other shots.
